- Hard and sturdy, with a sharp cutting edge, rust-resistant and chip-resistant, and easy to maintain, including resharpening -

VG10 is one of the highest quality stainless steel blade steels manufactured by Takefu Special Steel Co., Ltd. in Fukui Prefecture. It contains so much carbon that it is called high carbon stainless steel, which makes it a hard and sharp blade. It also contains 15% chromium (compared to about 13% for regular stainless steel knives), which makes it highly corrosion resistant (rust resistant), tough, resilient, and wear resistant. Ingredients: Carbon 1% , Chromium 15% , Cobalt 1.55% , Molybdenum 1% , Vanadium 0.25%

Linen Micarta

Micarta is a phenolic resin material developed by the American company Westinghouse. It is made by solidifying materials such as cloth, paper, and plywood, but currently, International Paper, the world's largest paper manufacturer, is in charge of producing Micarta. As it is a registered trademark, no other company produces Micarta. Linen Micarta is made by laminating many layers of thin, finely woven linen and pressurizing it primarily with phenolic resin. It has excellent impact resistance and corrosion resistance, and deteriorates very slowly over time.
